Cocktail
Chill glass
Place a rocks glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while you build the cocktail.
Add ice and stir
Fill the mixing glass with plenty of ice (large cubes if available). Stir gently for 20–30 seconds until the mixture is well chilled and properly diluted (about 25% dilution by eye—cocktail should look slightly viscous and cold).
Prepare serving glass
Discard ice water from the chilled rocks glass (if used) and add one large clear ice cube or a few fresh ice cubes.
Strain
Strain the chilled cocktail from the mixing glass into the prepared rocks glass over the large ice cube.
Serve
Serve immediately. Sip slowly to enjoy the layered flavors: the spicy-sweet High West bourbon, herbaceous yellow Chartreuse, rich vermouth and bright orange curaçao and citrus oil finish.
