Method
Punch Base
Mix juices and spirits
In a large pitcher or punch bowl (about 2-3 quart capacity), combine the light rum (1.5 cups), dark rum (0.5 cups), orange juice (2 cups), pineapple juice (1 cup), fresh lime juice (1/2 cup), and simple syrup (1/2 cup). Stir vigorously until homogenous.
Add orange liqueur and bitters
Add the orange curaçao (3 tablespoons) and 12 drops of Angostura bitters to the bowl. Stir again to incorporate. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding up to 2 tablespoons more simple syrup if desired.
Chill & Clarify
Cover the punch and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to let the flavors marry. If you prefer a clearer presentation, strain the punch through a fine-mesh sieve into a fresh container before serving to remove any pulp or solids from fresh juices.
Finish & Serve
Float orange slices and lime wheels on top for garnish. To serve individual portions, ladle into ice-filled glasses (about 6–8 ounces per serving) and add a garnish slice to each glass.
This batch yields approximately 8 servings at around 6.5% ABV (depending on specific spirits and juice densities). Keep punch refrigerated and consume within 24 hours for best freshness.
