Cocktail
Prepare and combine
If you prefer a salted rim, rub the lime wedge around the edge of a rocks or coupe glass and dip the rim into the coarse salt. Fill a mixing tin or cocktail shaker with the measured ice (about 1 cup). Add 2 oz dulce vida reposado tequila, 1 oz orange liqueur, 0.5 oz agave syrup, and 0.75 oz fresh lime juice to the shaker.
Shake
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is well chilled (shaker should be frosty). This both chills and properly dilutes the cocktail to balance the agave and citrus.
Strain and serve
Discard the ice from the serving glass if used to chill. Fill the glass with fresh ice (about 1 cup) if serving on the rocks, or leave neat in a coupe. Double-strain the shaken cocktail into the prepared glass using a hawthorne and fine strainer (or a single fine strainer) to remove small ice shards and any pulp.
Garnish & Finish
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim or floated on the drink. Serve immediately.
