Cocktail

Method

Prepare Glass

1

Salt the rim

Run the lime wedge around the outside rim of a chilled coupe or rocks glass (wet the rim lightly). Pour the coarse salt onto a small plate, then gently press and rotate the glass rim in the salt to adhere a thin, even coating. Set the glass aside.

Mix Cocktail

2

Measure and add to shaker

Into a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz silver tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 1 oz curaçao, and 0.25 oz simple syrup (omit or adjust if you prefer a drier margarita).

3

Add ice and shake

Add about 6 ice cubes to the shaker. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and the outside is frosted. This chills and slightly dilutes the cocktail for balance.

4

Strain and serve

Fill the prepared glass with about 1 cup of fresh ice if serving on the rocks, or leave the glass empty if serving straight up. Double-strain the cocktail through a Hawthorne strainer (and a fine mesh strainer if available) into the glass.

Garnish & Finish

5

Garnish the cocktail with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
