Don Julio Blanco Margarita (per cocktail)
Optional: Large-format pitcher (6 servings)
Method
Don Julio Blanco Margarita (per cocktail)
- 1
Prepare glass
Run a lime wedge around the outer rim of a rocks or coupe glass. Pour coarse sea salt onto a small plate and gently press the rim into the salt to coat. Set the glass aside.
- 2
Build and shake
In a cocktail shaker, add 1 cup of ice, 2 oz Don Julio Blanco tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 0.75 oz Cointreau, and 0.25 oz agave syrup. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is very cold to the touch.
- 3
Strain and serve
Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice (if using a rocks glass) or without ice (if using a coupe).
- 4
Garnish
Express a lime wheel over the drink to release oils, then drop or perch the wheel/wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
- 5
Tasting notes & adjustments
If the cocktail tastes too tart, add 0.25 oz more agave syrup and stir lightly. If too sweet, add 0.25 oz more lime juice. For a lighter cocktail, reduce tequila to 1.5 oz and increase Cointreau to 1 oz for balance.
Optional: Large-format pitcher (6 servings)
- 6
In a large pitcher, combine 12 oz Don Julio Blanco, 6 oz fresh lime juice, 4.5 oz Cointreau, and 1.5 oz agave syrup. Stir until the agave is fully incorporated.
- 7
Fill the pitcher with ice and stir again to chill the mixture thoroughly (or refrigerate the mixture without ice until chilled, then add ice to serve).
- 8
- 9
Store any leftover premix (without ice) refrigerated up to 24 hours; add fresh ice and stir before serving.
