Method
Toast
Prepare bread
Remove 4 thick slices of cinnamon raisin bread from the package and let come to room temperature for a few minutes if refrigerated; this helps even toasting.
Toast the bread (skillet/griddle)
If using a skillet or griddle, spread 1/2 tablespoon (tbs) of butter on one side of each slice. Place bread butter-side down onto the warm skillet. Toast 2–3 minutes until golden brown and crisp, then flip and toast the other side an additional 1–2 minutes until browned and warmed through.
Toast the bread (toaster or broiler)
If using a toaster, toast slices to medium–dark setting until golden and crisp (timing varies by toaster). If broiling in oven, place slices on a baking sheet, brush one side with 1/2 tbs butter, broil 1–2 minutes until golden, flip, brush remaining side with butter, and broil another 1–2 minutes. Watch closely to avoid burning.
Finish & serve
Optional garnish: For a touch of extra flavor, sprinkle ground cinnamon evenly over the four slices (about 1/4 tsp per slice), drizzle honey or maple syrup (about 1/2 tbs per slice) if desired, and dust lightly with powdered sugar.
Serve hot. Toast is best enjoyed immediately while crisp at the edges and soft inside.
