Method

Preparation

1

Muddle the Ingredients

In an Old Fashioned glass, add the sugar cube and douse it with Angostura bitters. Then, add a teaspoon of water. Muddle these ingredients together until the sugar is dissolved.

2

Add the Bourbon

Pour 2 ounces of bourbon over the muddled sugar and bitters mixture in the glass.

3

Add Ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes, preferably one large cube or sphere to minimize dilution.

4

Stir

Gently stir the mixture with a bar spoon for about 10-15 seconds to chill and combine the ingredients.

5

Garnish

Take a strip of orange peel and express the oils over the drink by gently twisting it. Drop the peel into the glass as garnish.
