Toppings (optional)

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Protein

If using ground beef, cook it in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. If using chicken, shred it if cooked or sauté in a skillet until fully cooked. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Cheese

In a bowl, combine the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Mix well and set aside.

Assembling the Nachos

  1. 3

    Layer the Chips

On a large baking sheet, spread out the tortilla chips in an even layer.

  2. 4

    Add the Cheese

Sprinkle the cheese mixture generously over the tortilla chips, ensuring even coverage.

  3. 5

    Add the Protein

Evenly distribute the cooked ground beef or shredded chicken over the cheese-covered chips.

  4. 6

    Add Jalapeños

Sprinkle the sliced jalapeños over the top for added spice.

Baking

  1. 7

    Bake the Nachos

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serving

  1. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Remove nachos from the oven and let them cool slightly. Top with optional toppings like sour cream, salsa, and chopped green onions before serving.
