Method

Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the mixture into a 1/2 lb patty, ensuring it is slightly larger than the burger bun as it will shrink while cooking.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 4

    Prepare the Bun

While the patty is cooking, cut the burger bun in half and lightly toast it if desired.

  2. 5

    Add the Toppings

On the bottom half of the bun, layer the lettuce leaves, followed by the cooked patty, then add the tomato slice, onion slices, and pickles.

  3. 6

    Complete the Burger

Place the top half of the bun on the assembled toppings. Press gently to secure everything in place.
