Cocktail
Garnish & Serve
Method
Prepare
- 1
Chill glass
Place a rocks glass or coupe in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill it with ice water while you prepare the drink to ensure the cocktail stays pleasantly cool.
- 2
If using fresh lime, cut and juice the lime to measure 0.5 oz (about half a lime). Prepare garnish (slice a thin lime wheel or cut a wedge).
Build & Shake
- 3
Fill a cocktail shaker with the measured ice (about 1 cup of ice).
- 4
Add 1.5 oz vodka to the shaker.
- 5
Add 0.75 oz Southern Comfort to the shaker.
- 6
Add 0.5 oz amaretto to the shaker.
- 7
Add 0.5 oz peach schnapps to the shaker.
- 8
Add 0.5 oz fresh lime juice to the shaker.
- 9
If you prefer a slightly sweeter, smoother finish, add 0.25 oz simple syrup. This is optional depending on the sweetness of the liqueurs and your taste.
- 10
Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and well-chilled.
Strain & Serve
- 11
- 12
Double-strain the contents of the shaker into the prepared glass using a Hawthorne strainer and, if available, a fine mesh strainer to catch small ice shards and pulp for a cleaner texture.
- 13
Garnish with the lime wheel or wedge and, if using, a mint sprig gently slapped between your hands to release aroma and laid on the rim.
- 14
Serve immediately. Sip to experience the interplay of bright lime, almond notes from amaretto, stone-fruit sweetness from peach schnapps, and the warm character of Southern Comfort balanced by the neutral vodka.
