Method
Cocktail
- 1
Chill glass (optional)
If you prefer a very cold drink, place Champagne flutes in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes or fill them briefly with ice and cold water. Dump out ice and water before assembling the cocktail.
- 2
Measure juices and sparkling wine
Use equal parts chilled Champagne (or dry sparkling wine) and chilled fresh orange juice. For one serving, measure 1/2 cup (120 ml) Champagne and 1/2 cup (120 ml) orange juice. (The recipe ingredients list totals 1 cup each for multiple servings—see servings below.)
- 3
Combine in glass
Pour the orange juice into a chilled Champagne flute first. This helps control foaming when the sparkling wine is added.
- 4
Top with Champagne
Slowly pour the chilled Champagne down the side of the flute or into the center to gently combine with the orange juice. Fill to about 3/4–1 inch (2–3 cm) from the rim to allow bubbles to rise without spilling.
- 5
Garnish and serve
Garnish with an orange twist or a thin orange slice on the rim. Serve immediately while bubbly and cold.
