Place the bottle of Pinot Grigio in the refrigerator for at least 2–3 hours before serving. Ideal serving temperature is 8–10°C (46–50°F). If short on time, fill a bucket with ice and water and chill the bottle for 20–30 minutes until properly cold.

Refrigerate

While the wine chills, place white wine glasses in the fridge or freezer for 10–15 minutes to cool the glass (do not freeze or leave too long).

Prepare lemon wedges by cutting a lemon into 6–8 wedges. Set 1–2 wedges per glass on a small plate. The lemon is optional — serve on the side to allow guests to add a faint citrus note if preferred.

Arrange 6 plain crackers or biscotti pieces on a small bread plate to accentuate the wine's biscuit character. Place edible flowers in a small dish if using; these are for aroma and presentation, not for strong flavoring.

Remove the chilled bottle from the fridge or ice bath and dry it with a clean towel. Inspect the cork and capsule, and if present, use a foil cutter or small knife to remove the capsule neatly.

Use a wine opener to gently extract the cork. Wipe the bottle lip with a clean cloth to remove any cork bits or dust.

Pour a small tasting amount (1–2 oz / 30–60 ml) into a glass to check aroma and temperature. Swirl gently to release delicate citrus and floral perfumes and to assess the biscuit note.

If temperature and aroma are correct, pour approximately 5–6 oz (150–180 ml) per serving into each white wine glass, filling to the widest part of the bowl to maximize aromatics. Leave room to swirl.

Present each glass with a lemon wedge and 1–2 crackers on the side. Encourage guests to inhale gently above the glass to appreciate delicate citrus, white floral notes, and the biscuit character on the nose before tasting.

To taste, take a small sip and let the wine coat the palate. Note brightness from citrus, subtle floral layers, and any biscuit/malty texture on the finish. Offer additional lemon wedge only if a brighter citrus lift is desired — avoid squeezing directly into the wine to preserve balance.

Keep the bottle in an ice bucket or refrigerator between pours to maintain the recommended serving temperature. Recork partially used bottles with the original cork (push in cork or use a stopper) and refrigerate; consume within 2–3 days for best freshness.
