Method
Salad
- 1
Prepare vegetables
Wash and thoroughly dry the mixed salad greens using a salad spinner or paper towels. Peel the carrot and julienne or shred it into fine strips (about 1 cup). Thinly slice the red radishes (6 pieces) into rounds. If using, thinly slice cucumber and red onion. Place the greens in a large salad bowl.

Finish and garnish
Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and chopped cilantro or basil over the top just before serving to preserve texture and aroma.
Sesame Dressing
- 4
Combine dressing ingredients
In a small bowl or jar, add 3 tablespoons neutral oil, 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil, 2 tablespoons rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon honey, 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic, 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger (if using), 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper.
- 5
Emulsify
Whisk vigorously until the dressing emulsifies and is smooth, or close the jar and shake well for 20–30 seconds. Taste and adjust seasoning: add more honey for sweetness, more rice vinegar for acidity, or a pinch more salt if needed.
- 6
Dress the salad
Just before serving, drizzle about 2–3 tablespoons of dressing over the prepared salad (reserve extra dressing on the side). Toss gently to coat the greens and vegetables evenly. Serve immediately.
