Method
Prepare the Ice Cream
Scoop the Ice Cream
Scoop the vanilla ice cream into balls, about 1/4 cup each. Place the scoops on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Freeze the Ice Cream
Cover the ice cream balls with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 2 hours, or until solid.
Make the Batter
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
Coat the Ice Cream
Coat with Batter
Dip each frozen ice cream ball into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
Roll the battered ice cream ball in the breadcrumbs to coat evenly, then place back on the baking sheet.
Fry the Ice Cream
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Ice Cream
Carefully lower the coated ice cream balls into the hot oil, frying them for about 10-15 seconds until golden brown. Remove them immediately and drain on paper towels.
Serve
Plate the Ice Cream
Place the deep-fried ice cream on serving plates.
Add Toppings
Drizzle with chocolate syrup, add whipped cream, and top with a cherry.
