Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Prepare glass

Chill a large wine glass or highball glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice to cool while you mix.

  2. 2

    Mix base

In a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice, add 1.5 oz Grey Goose L'Orange, 0.5 oz mango liqueur (or 0.5 oz mango purée plus 0.25 oz simple syrup), and 0.25 oz fresh lemon juice. Shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds to combine and slightly chill.

  3. 3

    Assemble

Discard the chilling ice from the glass if used. Fill the glass with fresh ice (about 1 cup). Strain the shaken vodka-mango mixture into the glass over the ice.

  4. 4

    Add rosé

Slowly pour 3 oz chilled rosé wine into the glass over the back of a spoon or down the side of the glass to preserve bubbles and create a layered look if desired. Do not stir vigorously.

  5. 5

    Finish with soda

Top gently with 2 oz chilled soda water to add effervescence and lighten the drink. Give the drink one gentle stir (1–2 turns) just to integrate the components.

  6. 6

    Garnish and serve

Garnish with a thin orange wheel or a halved fresh strawberry on the rim and an optional mint sprig. Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer.

  7. 7

    Notes

If using mango purée, adjust sweetness with the 0.25 oz simple syrup to taste. For a fruitier spritzer, muddle a strawberry or add a splash more mango liqueur (up to 0.75 oz). Maintain proportions if scaling the recipe.
