Method

Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a coupe or small cocktail glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail so the drink stays cold.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 1.5 oz Meletti Velluto chocolate liqueur, 1.0 oz vodka, 0.5 oz Luxardo Maraschino liqueur, and (optional) 0.25 oz fresh espresso or strongly brewed coffee if you want extra body and warmth. The coffee is optional but complements the chocolate and maraschino notes.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes very cold and slightly frosted.

4

Prepare glass

If you chilled the glass with ice water, dump the ice water now. If it was in the freezer, remove it. Optionally, rub the rim with an orange twist to add a citrus aromatic.

5

Strain and serve

Double-strain (use the shaker’s strainer and a fine mesh if available) into the chilled coupe or cocktail glass to remove any small ice shards and coffee grounds (if used).

Garnish

6

Thread a Luxardo cherry onto a cocktail pick and place it in the glass, or drop the cherry directly into the drink. Express an orange twist over the surface to release oils, then rest the twist on the rim or float it in the drink if using.

7

Serve immediately while cold. Sip and enjoy the interplay of dark chocolate, clean vodka, and the bright almond-cherry notes of Luxardo maraschino.
