Chill and prepare glass
If desired, chill a serving glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or rinse with cold water. This keeps the drink colder longer and reduces rapid melting of ice.

Pour cola
Open 1 can (355 ml) of Coca-Cola or your chosen cola and gently pour it down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation and reduce foaming. Fill to about 1/4 inch (6 mm) from the rim.

Garnish (optional)
Squeeze a lime wedge lightly over the surface if you like a hint of citrus, then drop it into the glass. Add a maraschino cherry on top if desired.

Serve
Insert a straw if using and serve immediately so the drink remains fizzy and cold.
