Method
Cocktail
Measure and combine
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice, 1 oz orange liqueur, and 0.25 oz agave syrup (optional for added balance).
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker feels very cold and you see condensation on the outside.
Prepare serving glass
While shaking, run a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass. Dip the moistened rim into coarse salt to create an even salted edge. Add fresh ice to the glass if serving on the rocks.
Strain and serve
Double-strain the cocktail (using the shaker's strainer and a fine mesh strainer if available) into the prepared glass. If serving straight up, pour without ice; if serving on the rocks, strain over fresh ice in the glass.
Garnish
Garnish with the reserved lime wedge on the rim or floated in the drink. Serve immediately.
Garnish & Glass Prep
Salt rim: place coarse salt on a small plate. After running the lime wedge around the glass rim, press the rim into the salt, rotating to coat evenly. Tap off excess before filling.
Ice: ensure fresh ice is used for serving to avoid dilution from melted shaker ice.
