Prepare the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
Heat Oil
In a deep pot, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C) over medium heat.
Prepare Hot Dogs
Insert a wooden stick into each hot dog, leaving enough stick to hold.
Coat Hot Dogs
Dip each hot dog into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
Fry Corn Dogs
Carefully place the coated hot dogs into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally.
Drain and Serve
Remove corn dogs from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with Cheez-Its on the side.
