Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Dry shake (if using egg white)

Add vodka, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, simple syrup, cranberry juice and egg white to a cocktail shaker without ice. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds to emulsify the egg white and create a froth.

2

Wet shake

Open the shaker, add 4–6 ice cubes, re-seal and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.

3

Strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe or martini glass (use a fine mesh strainer if you used egg white to remove tiny ice shards and ensure a smooth foam).

4

Top gently with 1.5 oz club soda to add effervescence; pour slowly over the back of a spoon if you want to preserve foam.

Garnish & serve

5

Express a lemon twist over the surface of the drink to release oils, then run the twist around the rim and place it on the glass.

6

Float a dried edible flower or drop 2–3 fresh cranberries on top for a pretty finish (optional).

7

Serve immediately while chilled and fizzy.
