Vanilla Ice Cream Layer

Method

Vanilla Ice Cream Layer

1

Soften and Remix

Let the vanilla ice cream sit at room temperature for 5 minutes to soften slightly. In a small bowl, stir the softened ice cream with 2 tablespoons whole milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth but still scoopable. Transfer to a chilled bowl or piping bag and place in the freezer to firm for 5–10 minutes while you prepare other components.

2

Spoon or pipe about 1 cup of the prepared vanilla ice cream into the bottom of each of 4 serving glasses (approximately 1/2 cup per glass). Spread evenly to form the first layer and return glasses to the freezer.

Strawberry Ice Cream Layer

3

Soften & Mix Strawberries

Let the strawberry ice cream soften for 4–5 minutes. In a small bowl, fold the chopped 1 cup fresh strawberries and 1 tablespoon simple syrup (if using) into the softened strawberry ice cream to distribute fruit evenly but keep the mixture scoopable.

4

Divide the strawberry ice cream mixture between the 4 glasses, adding about 1 cup per glass on top of the vanilla layer (approximately 1/2 cup per glass). Smooth the surface and freeze for 10 minutes to firm up the layers.

Strawberry Daiquiri Puree

5

Make the Daiquiri Puree

Combine 1 cup hulled fresh strawberries, 2 tablespoons light rum, 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, and 2 teaspoons granulated sugar in a blender. Pulse until smooth. If the puree feels too thick to drizzle, add up to 1 tablespoon water and pulse once more. Taste and adjust lime or sugar if needed.

6

Strain the puree through a fine-mesh sieve if you prefer a very smooth sauce (optional). Let the puree chill in the refrigerator for 5 minutes to cool.

7

Spoon or drizzle about 2 tablespoons of the strawberry daiquiri puree over the top of each glass, allowing some to sink into the strawberry ice cream layer to create marbling.

Garnish & Serve

8

Top each sundae with about 1/4 cup whipped cream (approximately 1 tablespoon per glass).

9

Garnish each sundae with a sliced fresh strawberry, a lime wedge, 2 mint leaves, and a light sprinkle of grated white chocolate (about 1/2 teaspoon per glass) if using.

10

Serve immediately with long spoons. If you need to hold the sundaes, cover and refrigerate for up to 20 minutes; avoid leaving them at room temperature to prevent melting.
