Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare glass

Select a large wine glass or a stemmed balloon glass. Add 4 large ice cubes or enough ice to chill the glass well (about 4 pieces).

2

Add Aperol

Pour 2 oz Aperol over the ice. This is the bitter-sweet base of the Spritz.

3

Add Prosecco

Slowly pour 3 oz chilled Prosecco into the glass at a slight angle to preserve bubbles and encourage gentle mixing. Pouring slowly prevents excessive fizz.

4

Top with soda

Add 1 oz chilled soda water to top the cocktail and lighten the texture. Adjust soda to taste if you prefer a less boozy, more effervescent drink.

5

Gentle stir

Using a bar spoon or the handle of a spoon, give the drink one or two gentle stirs — just enough to integrate the ingredients while retaining carbonation.

6

Garnish and serve

Garnish with 1 wheel of orange on the rim or floated in the glass. Optionally add a green olive or a small sprig of rosemary for a savory twist. Serve immediately while chilled and fizzy.
