Method
Prepare
Chill glass
Place a highball glass or 12–14 oz serving glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare ingredients to chill it.
If you don't have cold-brewed tea ready: steep 1 tea bag (black tea) in 6–8 fl oz near-boiling water for 3 minutes, then cool quickly in an ice bath and strain. Let cool to refrigerator temperature before using.
Build the Drink
Add ice
Fill the chilled glass about three-quarters full with fresh ice cubes.
Combine spirits and tea
Pour 2 fl oz vodka into the glass, then add 4 fl oz of the cold-brewed black tea.
Add citrus and sweetener
Add 0.5 fl oz fresh lemon juice and 0.5 fl oz simple syrup into the glass. Stir gently with a bar spoon 6–8 times to integrate.
Top with soda
Top the mixture with 4 fl oz lemon-lime soda, pouring slowly to preserve carbonation. Give the drink one gentle stir (2–3 turns).
