Ingredients: 5 oz Lanson Le Black (Brut Champagne or sparkling wine); 0.5 oz Fresh lemon juice; 0.25 oz Simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water); 2 dashes Orange bitters; 1 to taste Lemon twist (for garnish); 1 to taste Ice (for shaking and optional chilling)

Place a flute or coupe in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail so the champagne stays lively when served.

Chill glass

In a cocktail shaker, add fresh lemon juice (0.5 oz), simple syrup (0.25 oz) and 2 dashes of orange bitters. Add a handful of ice and shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds to properly chill and dilute the mix.

Shake citrus & sweetener

Discard ice or water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the shaken citrus mixture into the chilled flute or coupe to remove small ice shards and any pulp.

Strain into glass

Slowly pour 5 oz of Lanson Le Black down the side of the glass to top up. Pouring slowly preserves bubbles and keeps the drink lively and refreshing.

Top with Champagne

Express a lemon twist over the drink to release oils, rub the rim with the peel if desired, then drop the twist into the glass. Serve immediately while effervescence is high.
