Cajun Fries Ingredients
Method
Cajun Fries Directions
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin fries or wedges, depending on your preference.
Soak the Fries
Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
Make the Cajun Spice Mix
In a small bowl, mix together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt. Adjust the seasoning to your taste.
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Potatoes
Remove the fries from the water and pat them dry with paper towels. Carefully add them to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
Season and Serve
Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. While they are still hot, toss them in the Cajun spice mix until evenly coated. Serve immediately.
