Ingredients

Bottle & Service

Preparation

Chill & Prepare Bottle

1. Chill the bottle

If the bottle is not already chilled, place the bottle of J.P. Chenet Brut in an ice bucket filled with ice cubes and a little cold water for 20–30 minutes. Alternatively, refrigerate the bottle upright for at least 3 hours before serving. The ideal serving temperature for a Brut sparkling wine is 6–8°C (43–46°F).

2. Prepare glassware

While the bottle chills, set out clean champagne flutes or sparkling wine glasses. If desired, rinse the glasses with very cold water and drain to slightly chill them — do not leave water in the glass.

Open & Pour

3. Remove foil and wire cage

When ready to open, remove the foil capsule covering the cork. Loosen and gently untwist the wire cage (usually six half-turns). Keep a thumb over the cork while loosening the cage to prevent the cork from popping unexpectedly.

4. Open the bottle safely

Hold the bottle at a 45° angle, pointing away from people and fragile objects. Keep one hand on the cork and slowly twist the bottle (not the cork). Apply steady pressure so the cork eases out with a quiet sigh rather than an aggressive pop.

5. Pour

Pour the sparkling wine into the chilled flutes by tilting each glass slightly and pouring gently down the side to preserve fine bubbles. Fill each flute about two-thirds full (approximately 90–120 ml per glass, depending on glass size) to leave room for aroma.

Garnish & Serve (Optional)

6. Add citrus twist

If using a citrus twist, cut a thin strip of lemon or orange peel, twist it over the glass to release oils, and either rim the glass with it briefly or drop it into the flute.

7. Add berries

For a subtle fruit accent, drop one fresh strawberry slice or a raspberry into each flute. This is optional and will lightly sweeten the first sips.

8. Serve

Serve immediately while the wine is at the recommended temperature. If not finished, reseal with a proper sparkling wine stopper and return to the refrigerator. Consume within 1–2 days for best bubble retention.
