In a large brew kettle, heat 6 liters of water to approximately 160°F (70°C). Add the Pilsner malt and flaked corn, and maintain the temperature for 60 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Mashing

After mashing, sparge the grains with enough hot water to collect around 5.5 liters of wort.

Sparging

Bring the wort to a boil. Once boiling, add the Hallertau hops and boil for 60 minutes. After 50 minutes, add the Saaz hops.

Boiling

After boiling, cool the wort quickly to around 65°F (18°C) using a wort chiller or an ice bath.

Cooling

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Pitch the lager yeast and seal the vessel. Allow it to ferment at around 50°F (10°C) for 2 weeks.

Fermentation

After fermentation is complete, dissolve the priming sugar in a small amount of water and add it to the beer. Bottle the beer into sanitized bottles and cap them.

Bottling

Allow the bottles to condition at room temperature for another 2 weeks before refrigerating.
