Method

Prepare the Meat

  1. 1

    Choose Your Meat

Select one of the meat options: ground beef, chicken breast, or pork shoulder.

  2. 2

    Cook the Meat

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chosen meat until fully cooked. For ground beef, break it apart as it cooks. For chicken, cook until no longer pink and shred. For pork shoulder, cook until tender and shred.

  3. 3

    Add Seasoning

Add the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the cooked meat. Stir well to combine and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the spices are fragrant.

Prepare Taco Shells

  1. 4

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet or on a grill, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable. Alternatively, you can wrap them in foil and heat them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.

Assemble Tacos

  1. 5

    Layer the Ingredients

Take a warm tortilla and add a generous portion of the seasoned meat in the center. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and a dollop of sour cream.

  2. 6

    Add Optional Toppings

If desired, add sliced jalapenos and avocado slices to your tacos.

  3. 7

    Serve

Fold the tortilla over the fillings and serve immediately with lime wedges, if desired.
