Toppings (Optional)

Method

Preparation of Beef

  1. 1

    Brown the Ground Beef

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until it is browned and no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes.

  2. 2

    Drain Excess Fat

Once the beef is browned, drain any excess fat from the skillet.

  3. 3

    Add Seasoning

Reduce heat to medium, and add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the beef. Stir well to combine.

  4. 4

    Add Water

Pour in the water and stir to mix all the seasonings with the beef. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the water has mostly evaporated and the beef is well-coated with seasoning.

Assembly of Tacos

  1. 5

    Warm Taco Shells

While the beef is simmering, warm the taco shells according to package instructions, typically in the oven or microwave.

  2. 6

    Fill Taco Shells

Once the taco shells are warmed, fill each shell with the seasoned ground beef.

  3. 7

    Add Toppings

Top each taco with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, sliced jalapeños, and chopped cilantro as desired.
