Taco Filling

Method

Prepare the Chicken

  1. 1

    Cook the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked (internal temperature of 165°F).

  2. 2

    Shred the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. Once cooled, shred the chicken using two forks.

  3. 3

    Season the Chicken

Return the shredded chicken to the skillet. Add taco seasoning and water. Stir to combine and heat through for about 3-4 minutes until the chicken is well coated and heated.

Assemble the Tacos

  1. 4

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet or on a grill, lightly warm the tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until they are pliable.

  2. 5

    Fill the Tacos

Take a warm tortilla and add a generous portion of the seasoned chicken filling. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese.

  3. 6

    Add Optional Toppings

If desired, add sour cream and salsa on top of the filled tacos.

  4. 7

    Serve

Serve the tacos immediately while warm, with any additional toppings on the side.
