Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, milk, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a soft dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Shape the Rolls

Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place in a greased baking dish.

  6. 6

    Second Rise

Cover the baking dish with a cloth and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.

  7. 7

    Bake

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

  8. 8

    Serve

Brush the hot rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with Maldon salt. Serve warm with whipped butter.
