Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a mixing bowl, combine whiskey, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and black pepper. Stir until the brown sugar is fully dissolved.

  2. 2

    Add Steak to Marinade

Place the sirloin steak in the marinade, ensuring it is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for more flavor.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Brush the grill with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Glaze with Marinade

During the last minute of cooking, brush the steak with the reserved marinade to create a glaze. Make sure not to overcook.

  4. 6

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate and Garnish

Slice the steak against the grain and arrange it on a serving plate. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side, if desired.
