Method
Preparation of Ribs
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Start by removing the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption.
- 2
Marinate the Ribs
In a large bowl, mix together bourbon, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Place the ribs in the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Preparing the Barbecue Sauce
- 3
Make the Barbecue Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, bourbon, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, black pepper, and salt. Stir well and let it simmer for about 15 minutes until thickened.
Grilling the Ribs
- 4
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- 5
Grill the Ribs
Remove the ribs from the marinade and place them on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, brushing them with the barbecue sauce during the last few minutes of grilling.
- 6
Check for Doneness
The ribs are done when they are tender and the meat easily pulls away from the bone. Ensure internal temperature reaches at least 145°F (63°C).
Serving
- 7
Serve the Ribs
Once cooked, remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
