Prepare the Ribeye
Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps the steak cook more evenly.

Place a large skillet or cast-iron pan over high heat and allow it to preheat for about 5 minutes until it is very hot.

Flip and Finish Cooking
Using tongs, flip the ribeye steak and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare. If using, add a sprig of fresh rosemary or thyme and a tablespoon of butter to the pan for added flavor.
- 6
Check for Doneness
Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, aim for 130-135°F (54-57°C). Adjust cooking time if necessary.
- 7
Rest the Steak
Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Slice and Serve
After resting, slice the ribeye steak against the grain and serve it immediately. Enjoy!
