This unique stout is our top selling beer. We infuse our Oatmeal Stout with some of the country's best coffee to make this award-winning medium-bodied ale.

In a large pot, heat 5 gallons of brewing water to 165°F (74°C). Add 10 lbs of Malt to the water and stir well to dissolve.

Prepare the Brew

Maintain the temperature at 150°F (65°C) for 60 minutes while stirring occasionally. This process allows the enzymes in the malt to convert the starches into sugars.

Mash the Grains

After the mash, sparge the grains with hot water to collect the wort. Aim for about 5 gallons of wort in total.

Bring the wort to a boil. Once boiling, add the hops and boil for 60 minutes. This step adds bitterness and complexity to the beer.

Boil the Wort

After the boil, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath to around 70°F (21°C).

Once the wort is cooled, steep 1 cup of coarse ground coffee in the wort for 10 minutes, then strain out the grounds.

Add Coffee

Transfer the wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel, pitch the yeast, and seal with an airlock. Allow it to ferment at room temperature for 1-2 weeks.

Fermentation

After fermentation, dissolve 3 oz of priming sugar in a small amount of water, add it to the beer, and bottle. Allow bottles to carbonate for 2 weeks.

Bottle Conditioning

Add 1 tsp of vanilla extract to the beer before bottling for an enhanced flavor profile.
