Burger Patty

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill/Pan

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, until browned.

  3. 5

    Flip and Add Cheese

Flip the patties over and place a slice of American cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, a cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
