Juice Ingredients

Method

Preparation & Blending

  1. 1

    Prepare fruit

Wash all fruit thoroughly. Peel and segment the navel oranges and grapefruit, removing as much pith as possible. Quarter and core the tomatoes if large; remove the stem. Trim the pineapple, remove the core if using very fibrous pineapple, and cut into roughly 1-inch chunks.

  2. 2

    Optional: reduce acidity and bitterness

If grapefruit is very bitter, taste a small piece; if needed, remove a bit more of the white pith from the segments to reduce bitterness. If tomatoes are very seedy and watery and you prefer a smoother juice, gently scoop out excess seeds before blending.

  3. 3

    Blend fruits

Place the orange segments, grapefruit segments, tomato quarters, and pineapple chunks into a high-speed blender. Add half of the cold water (about 1/2 cup) to help the blades move. Secure the lid and blend on high for 45–60 seconds until the mixture is smooth and homogeneous.

  4. 4

    Adjust texture and sweetness

Stop the blender and check texture. If the juice is too thick, add the remaining water in small amounts (up to the listed 1 cup total) and pulse until you reach the desired consistency. Taste and add honey or agave syrup 1 tsp at a time if you want it sweeter, and add the fresh lemon or lime juice to brighten the flavors.

  5. 5

    Season and chill

Add a small pinch of salt (about 1/4 tsp) if using to enhance tomato flavor; blend briefly (5–10 seconds) to incorporate. Add the ice cubes to the blender and pulse 2–3 times to slightly chill and dilute the juice, or alternatively serve the juice over ice if you prefer no extra blending with ice.

  6. 6

    Strain (optional)

If you prefer a very smooth, pulp-free juice, pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a pitcher, pressing with a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard solids or save for another use (smoothies, sorbet base, cooking).

  7. 7

    Serve

Pour the juice into glasses. Garnish with a thin slice of orange or pineapple on the rim if desired. Serve immediately for best flavor and freshness.

  8. 8

    Storage

Fresh juice is best consumed immediately. It can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 24–36 hours; stir or shake before serving. Do not store longer to preserve flavor and nutrient quality.
