Combine and chill
Fill a mixing glass with ice. Add 60 ml Bulleit Rye Whiskey, 15 ml Pernod, 7.5 ml Simple Syrup, and 2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters. Stir briskly for 20–30 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.

Strain and serve
Strain the mixture into a chilled old-fashioned glass. Optionally garnish with a lemon twist by expressing the oils over the drink and rubbing the rim before serving.
