Method

Brisket Preparation

1

Prepare the Brisket

Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the brisket with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Sear the brisket on both sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.

2

Add Aromatics

Transfer the brisket to a roasting pan. In the same skillet, add onions and garlic, sauté until softened. Pour in the beef broth and add the bay leaves. Mix well.

3

Roast the Brisket

Pour the onion mixture over the brisket. Cover the pan with foil and roast in the oven for about 3-4 hours, or until the meat is fork-tender. Let rest before slicing.

Latkes Preparation

4

Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine grated potatoes, grated onion, eggs, flour, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

5

Fry Latkes

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the hot oil, flatten slightly, and fry until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

Kasha & Bowties Preparation

6

Cook Kasha

In a pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add kasha and salt, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 10-15 minutes until cooked.

7

Cook Bowtie Pasta

In another pot, cook bowtie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

8

Combine and Serve

In a skillet, melt butter, add cooked kasha and pasta, season with salt and pepper, and toss gently to combine.

Steamed Broccoli Preparation

9

Steam Broccoli

In a steamer basket over boiling water, steam broccoli florets for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Season with salt and drizzle with lemon juice before serving.
