Prepare the Hot Dogs

Grill or pan-fry the hot dogs over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are heated through and slightly charred.

Prepare the Bread Rolls

While the hot dogs are cooking, slice the bread rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through. Toast them lightly if desired.

Assemble the Ripper Dogs

Place a hot dog in each bread roll. Top with chopped onions, grated cheddar cheese, mustard, ketchup, sliced pickles, and chili sauce if using. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve the Ripper Dogs immediately while they are hot, with extra condiments on the side if desired.
