Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Wings
Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Make the Breading
In a large bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- 3
Bread the Wings
Dredge each chicken wing in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Wings
Carefully add the breaded wings to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a thermometer to ensure they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- 6
Drain and Toss
Remove the wings from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Toss the wings in your favorite sauce until well coated.
- 7
Serve
Serve the wings hot with extra sauce on the side if desired.
