Crab Cakes

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Crab Cakes

In a large bowl, combine crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and chopped green onions. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Add Egg and Breadcrumbs

Fold in the beaten egg and bread crumbs until all ingredients are well combined. Form mixture into two equal patties.

  3. 3

    Chill the Patties

Cover the patties and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them set.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Signature Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, lemon juice, and hot sauce until smooth. Set aside.

  5. 5

    Fry the Crab Cakes

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Dip each crab cake in buttermilk, then carefully place in the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Crab Trap

Place each fried crab cake on a toasted burger bun, drizzle with signature sauce, and serve immediately.
