Fried Crab Claws

Method

Instructions

1

Prepare the Crab Claws

Rinse the crab claws under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

2

Make the Batter

In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

3

Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until well combined.

4

Coat the Crab Claws

Dip each crab claw into the wet mixture, then coat it with the flour mixture.

5

Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or frying pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

6

Fry the Crab Claws

Carefully add the coated crab claws to the hot oil in batches, cooking for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown.

7

Drain and Serve

Remove the fried crab claws and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve with lemon wedges.
