Biscuit Ingredients
Method
Biscuit Preparation
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
Cut in the Butter
Cut the cold unsalted butter into small cubes and add it to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add Buttermilk
Create a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Stir gently with a spoon until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Shape the Biscuits
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together. Pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake the Biscuits
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown on the top.
Serve
Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with your favorite jam.
