Glass Preparation

1

Salt the rim

Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass. Pour the coarse or sea salt onto a small plate and gently dip the rim into the salt to coat. Set the glass aside.

Cocktail Preparation

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add fresh lime juice, agave nectar, Olmeca Altos tequila, and orange liqueur (if using).

3

Add ice and shake

Add about 6 ice cubes to the shaker. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker becomes very cold and slightly frosted.

4

Strain and serve

Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice (optional for a rocks presentation) or leave it neat for a coupe. Double-strain the cocktail into the glass using a Hawthorne or fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and any pulp.

5

Garnish

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
