Sushi Ingredients

Method

Sushi Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Sushi Rice

Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to the package instructions, usually using 2 cups of water for every cup of rice. Once cooked, let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Season the Rice

In a small bowl, mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Gently fold this mixture into the warm sushi rice. Allow to cool to room temperature.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Fillings

Slice the fresh fish and vegetables into thin strips. Set aside.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Sushi Rolls

Place a nori sheet on a bamboo mat. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a small border at the top. Place your fillings in a line across the center of the rice. Roll the sushi tightly using the mat. Seal the edge with a bit of water.

  5. 5

    Slice and Serve

Using a sharp knife, slice the sushi rolls into bite-sized pieces. Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.

Hibachi Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Ingredients

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and marinate with soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, salt, and pepper for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 7

    Heat the Hibachi Grill

Preheat the hibachi grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. 8

    Cook the Chicken

Add the marinated chicken to the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until fully cooked, stirring frequently.

  4. 9

    Add Vegetables and Shrimp

Add the zucchini, mushrooms, and onions to the grill. Cook for an additional 5 minutes. Then add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque.

  5. 10

    Serve

Serve the hibachi chicken and shrimp hot off the grill. Drizzle with additional soy sauce if desired.
