Base Coffee Blend

Sweetener & Flavor

Method

Base Coffee Blend

1

Prepare coffee

Brew 1 double shot of espresso (about 1/3 cup) or 1 cup of very strong coffee. Allow it to cool to room temperature (about 10–15 minutes) or chill in the refrigerator for 5–10 minutes so it doesn't melt the ice immediately.

2

Measure the milk and half-and-half (or heavy cream) and set aside. These add creaminess and body to the frappe.

Sweetener & Flavor

3

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Stir into the cooled coffee until the brown sugar dissolves. Taste and adjust sweetness or spices to preference.

Ice & Texture

4

Add the cooled, sweetened coffee mixture to a blender. Pour in the milk and half-and-half, then add the ice cubes. If using ice cream for a richer texture, add it now.

5

Secure the blender lid and pulse on low once to break up the ice, then blend on high for 20–30 seconds until the mixture is smooth and frothy with a thick, pourable texture. If the frappe is too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons of milk and pulse again. If too thin, add a few more ice cubes and blend briefly.

Topping (optional)

6

Pour the frappe into a chilled tall glass, leaving space at the top for toppings. Top with whipped cream, drizzle with caramel or espresso syrup, and finish with a pinch of cinnamon or grated nutmeg.

7

Serve immediately with a straw and a long spoon.
