Preparation

1

Prepare the Glass

Select a highball glass or a julep cup and fill it with crushed ice to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

2

Muddle the Mint

In a separate mixing glass, add the fresh mint leaves and gently muddle them with a muddler or the back of a spoon to release the essential oils. Be careful not to tear the leaves too much.

Mixing

3

Combine Ingredients

Add the Basil Hayden Bourbon, Granja Nomada Mezcal, and Angostura Bitters to the muddled mint in the mixing glass.

4

Stir

Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir the mixture gently for about 20-30 seconds until well chilled.

Serving

5

Strain and Serve

Remove the ice from the chilled glass. Strain the cocktail mixture into the glass over fresh crushed ice.

6

Garnish

Garnish by placing a few additional mint leaves on top of the drink. Optionally, you can slap the mint leaves between your hands before placing them in the drink to enhance the aroma.
