Method
Preparing the Snow Crab Claws
- 1
Thawing the Crab Claws
If using frozen snow crab claws, place them in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours or overnight to thaw. Alternatively, run them under cold water for about 30 minutes until thawed.
- 2
Steaming the Crab Claws
Fill a large pot with about 1 inch of water and place a steamer basket inside. Bring the water to a boil. Once boiling, place the thawed crab claws in the steamer basket, cover, and steam for about 5-7 minutes until heated through.
- 3
Serving
Remove crab claws from the steamer and let them cool slightly. Serve with the prepared cocktail sauce.
Making the Cocktail Sauce
- 4
Mixing Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and a pinch of salt. Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
- 5
Taste and Adjust
Taste the cocktail sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary. If you prefer more heat, add additional horseradish or hot sauce.
- 6
Chill
Cover the cocktail sauce and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving.
