Method
Preparing the Ribs
- 1
Season the Ribs
In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the pork ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- 2
Prepare the Slow Cooker
Place the seasoned ribs in a slow cooker. Arrange them in a single layer as much as possible for even cooking.
Making the Barbecue Sauce

Combine Sauce Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, and mustard. If desired, add hot sauce for an extra kick.
- 4
Simmer the Sauce
Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Let it cook for about 10 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Cooking the Ribs
- 5
Add Sauce to Ribs
Pour the prepared barbecue sauce over the ribs in the slow cooker, making sure they are well covered.
- 6
Cook the Ribs
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the ribs are tender and the meat easily pulls away from the bone.
Serving

Serve
Once cooked, carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker. Serve hot with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
